Set in a speculative 5054 Nigeria, Aya’s Rhythmic Wave is an immersive performance that fuses Akwa Ibom heritage with future-world storytelling. Against a backdrop where cultural memory is at risk of disappearing, traditional dance becomes an act of resistance and renewal. The work positions movement as living archive, exploring how heritage can be preserved, transformed, or reimagined within digital space. Created with Unreal Engine and TouchDesigner, the work combines live dance, motion capture, and real-time projection. Traditional Akwa Ibom choreography animates digital dancers who respond to sound and gesture, transforming each performance into a living archive of movement and memory.
