Restorative Afrofuturism reimagines Queen Calathea’s story through a lens of cultural heritage and speculative possibility. The work explores how Afrofuturist frameworks can create visual narratives that honor ancestral memory while imagining liberatory futures. Positioned as both an artwork and a restorative practice, the installation invites viewers into a space where imagination becomes a form of healing and storytelling becomes a collective bridge between past, present, and future.
The work combines digital image-making and narrative experimentation to reimagine cultural stories with intention and specificity. Technology is treated as an instrument, expanding the possibilities of Afrofuturist storytelling while preserving authorship and cultural resonance.
